On the subject of Education and Science, the Claremorris group put forward the following motion - ‘That this Ard Fheis calls on the Minister for Education to decrease further the pupil/teacher ratio’.
The format at this Ard Fheis meant that audience questions had to be submitted to party handlers in advance, and the Minister had the last word.
Appropriately coming from the Eamon de Valera Cumann in Dublin South Central, it reads: ‘That this Ard Fheis reaffirms our position as the voice of Irish Republicanism’.
